The UIS collects S&T data from about 150 countries and territories. In addition to the UIS S&T survey, which is conducted on a biennial basis, the Institute collects data from the following three partners:
- the Network on Science and Technology Indicators – Ibero-American and Inter-American (RICYT), which provides data for about 25 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean;
- the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), which provides data for about 40 Member States and associated countries;
- the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat), which provides data for seven European countries.
